If you want to imagine the gigantic scale of Kumbh Mela, just have a look at the Pontoon Bridges installed every year in December and removed by the end of March. Five bridges are laid out in total, all across the Ganga River just before it merges with Yamuna at Triveni Sangam. These bridges provide easy access to the lakhs of devotees and pilgrims who stay in the Mela Area during Kalpavas.
Though the bridges are made for pedestrians, as soon as they are erected, two wheelers and four wheelers cross across it routinely. During the preparation phase, it is common to see an odd truck pass over the bridge.
But in this video you shall see a JCB crossing. Each time the JCB moves, the floating sphere almost sinks into the river, but the bridge holds good. Rocky ride indeed.
